Getting a new reel kit ready usually means winding hundreds of metres of twine onto each reel before you can take it into the field. With this fully loaded electric fencing reel kit, we do that job for you. Each of the three Hotline heavy-duty geared reels arrives with 500m of your chosen twine already wound on, ready to pay out when you put up your fence.

It is a handy arrangement for strip grazing, temporary grazing divisions and fences that need to be moved regularly. Having the twine stored on separate reels lets you pay out the lengths you need and wind them back in when it is time to move the fence. The 3:1 gearing speeds up winding, which is particularly useful when gathering in longer runs.

Choose your twine

The Red & White Electric Fence Twine has six stainless steel conductors and is the straightforward, economical option for shorter temporary fences and everyday grazing divisions.

The Pro XL Electric Fencing Twine is our turbo option, with nine stainless steel conductors and three tinned copper conductors. The copper helps carry the electric pulse more efficiently along the fence, so this is the option we would favour for longer runs or where maintaining a good pulse towards the far end is particularly important.

Whichever you choose, all three reels are loaded with the same twine, with 500m on each reel.

Choose your mounting post

The 3ft mounting post holds a maximum of three reels, matching the three supplied with this kit.

The 4ft mounting post holds a maximum of four reels. It still comes with three reels in this kit, but leaves room to add a fourth, available separately, if you want another fence line later.

The time-saving part is simple: you receive the reels with the twine already on them. There is no need to spend your first session transferring three rolls of twine onto empty reels before getting started.

Our Opinion

Loading a reel is one of those jobs that has to be done before you can get on with the fencing. Across three 500m rolls, it is a fair amount of winding, so we think having it done for you is a useful convenience, especially when you want to put a new kit straight to work.

For shorter grazing divisions, the red and white twine is a sensible way to keep the cost down. We would choose Pro XL where the fence runs are longer and better conductivity matters.

The 3ft post is the natural choice if three reels are all you need. If you think you may want a fourth line later, choose the 4ft post now so you have the space for it.
