Hotline Heavy Duty 3:1 Geared Reel – Empty or Fully Loaded

Description

The Hotline Heavy Duty 3:1 Geared Reel makes gathering in electric fencing twine quicker and less of a chore. Each turn of the handle rotates the drum three times, helping you wind in your fence when moving a grazing division or clearing a temporary fence line.

Use it with a suitable reel mounting post to keep your twine organised and ready to pay out. You can now choose the reel empty or have us load it for you before it leaves the shop.

Choose from three options using the drop-down box:

Empty reel

The reel is supplied without twine, ready for you to load with your own conductor. A sensible choice if you already have twine to use or are replacing an existing reel.

Fully loaded with 500m of red and white twine

We wind 500m of red and white electric fence twine onto the reel for you. This twine has six stainless steel conductors and is our economical option for shorter temporary fences and everyday strip grazing.

Fully loaded with 500m of Pro XL twine

We load the reel with 500m of Pro XL, our turbo twine with nine stainless steel conductors and three tinned copper conductors. The copper helps carry the pulse more efficiently along the fence, so this is the option we would favour for longer runs.

With either loaded option, you can skip the job of transferring a whole roll of twine onto an empty reel. It arrives already wound on and ready to pay out when you put up your fence.

When winding in, walk along the fence towards the loose twine as you reel it in. Avoid standing at one end and dragging a long length through the grass, as this puts unnecessary strain on the gears. The reel is intended for fencing twine and polywire, rather than thick horse rope.

Our Opinion

If you move electric fencing regularly, geared winding is a worthwhile feature. It reduces the number of handle turns needed each time you gather the twine in.

The empty reel suits customers who already have their conductor. If you need both, having us load the reel saves a job before your first use. We would choose red and white twine for shorter grazing divisions and Pro XL where better conductivity over longer runs matters.
