The Gallagher M350 Mains Energiser is a solid, no-nonsense unit built for permanent electric fencing where steady, reliable output is what matters. It’s well suited to horse paddocks, livestock fencing and general farm boundaries, giving you enough power to keep fences working properly without overcomplicating things.

With 2.7 joules of output energy, the M350 is comfortable on multi-wire fences up to around 15km in good conditions. It will also handle a number of electric nets, so it’s a flexible option if you’re running a mixed setup across the farm.

Installation is straightforward. It needs to be mounted indoors or somewhere dry, with lead-out cable running to both the fence and the earth system. As with any energiser at this level, getting the earth right is key — we’d usually suggest 2–3 galvanised earth stakes (1m or longer) depending on your ground. Do that properly and the unit will perform as it should.

The built-in lightning protection is a worthwhile addition, helping reduce the risk of damage from spikes, and the LED indicator gives a quick visual check that everything is running as it should.

In use, this is exactly what most people are after — reliable output, minimal fuss, and something you can fit and leave to get on with the job. It’s not loaded with unnecessary extras, just a well-built energiser that does what it says.
