The AKO Heavy Duty 3:1 Geared Reel is a professional-grade electric fencing reel designed for fast, efficient winding of polywire and braid. With a built-in 3:1 gear ratio, one turn of the handle spins the drum three times — saving time and effort when setting up or winding in long temporary fence lines. Built to AKO’s usual high standards, this grey reel features a tough, impact-resistant frame and smooth geared mechanism for dependable, long-term use on the farm.

Ideal for strip grazing, paddock rotation or temporary perimeter fencing, it can hold up to 500m of good quality electric fencing twine or braid like our meaty Pro XL and about 600m of regular, thinner stuff. The ergonomic handle and wide drum make winding easy, even in muddy field conditions. Suitable for all polywires and narrow braids (not recommended for horse rope). A great choice for UK farmers and equestrian users who value durability and convenience in their day-to-day fencing work.

as with all electric fence reels, we recommend walking towards the fencing twine as you reel in, rather than winding from one fixed spot. Some strain is normal, but excessive tension can damage the gears over time.
