Description
Often referred to as ‘Lead-out’ cable, this insulated cable is used to connect mains energisers to remote electric fences. Also if there is a regular un-electrified gate with an electrified fence on either side, this cable is used to attach the fences together by going underground.
We always recommend that when going underground, the insulated cable is put through a bit of hose or plastic pipe and then buried. This not only gives the insulated cable protection but acts as a warning to anyone who might dig in that area in the future.
The cable comes in two sizes. The 1.6mm diameter cable is mainly used for joining adjacent fields and the 2.5mm diameter cable is used for going under gateways and roads where there is heavier traffic and for use with larger energisers as the casing is thicker.
Conductors made of 1.6mm galvanised steel wire.
