Horsewire (or Equiwire) is the best permanent electric fencing solution for horse paddocks. It’s the safest, toughest and most hard wearing equestrian fencing line on the market but it is not the easiest to install.

8mm thick overall, this contains a central core of 2.5mm diameter high tensile steel wire. This has a coating made from a mixture of carbon fibre & plastic and maximum power is brought to the outer edges by 3 conducting lines. The white coating is a super tough UV stabilised polyethelene making it possibly the most durable powered line on the market.

Sold in 250m lengths, the white outer & carbon fibre conducting fins can be cut away to join one length to another and this is best done with Gripple’s or tensioners.

Horsewire is not as flexible as rope or tape and as such will not twist or kink, removing any danger that an animal will get a hoof caught if the wire should come loose from the fence posts.

Mostly bought for large horse yards where they use it for permanent perimeter fencing, this can take a high voltage and is ideal for stallion fencing and secure perimeter fencing. Regular tape & rope is often still used for flexible or temporary sectioning off smaller areas.

Please Note: Horsewire should be treated like any other type of high tensile line wire and should be installed by professional fencing contractors only. Because of this, we normally like to call the customer to confirm they know what they are buying before sending out just so we can confirm the specification and grade of fencing is suitable for your paddocks.
