Our standard polytwine is ideal for short livestock runs and temporary fences, while our professional-grade Pro XL twine is better suited to longer distances and more permanent electric fencing where consistent conductivity is important. For customers looking for a tougher option, our Turbo Polybraid builds on the Pro XL twine by using a braided construction that offers improved strength, reduced stretching and a longer working life — making it particularly well suited to rotational grazing systems for sheep and cattle.

Wire and twine are ideal conductors for most farm livestock, but they are not recommended as a standalone barrier fence for fast-moving animals such as horses, as they are less visible and not as physically substantial as electric poly-rope or tape. That said, we often recommend Pro XL twine as an excellent top-line deterrent on post and rail fencing, where the physical fence provides visibility and the electrified line prevents leaning or reaching over.

Wire and twine are also widely used for domestic and garden fencing, as well as electrified scare lines to help deter predators such as foxes and badgers.
