Description
This is an easy to use tester for your electric fence which displays the level of power with 8 lights.
Stick the tester’s spike into the ground and touch a conducting line with the steel plate at the top of the tester. This simulates an animal touching the electric fence and allows the pulse to flow through into the ground and back to the energiser. The tester’s top plate is in the shape of a hook but rather than hanging it, press the plate against the conducting line and the lights will flash up. The more lights flash up, the more power going through your fence.
This works the same as our 6 level tester but the display shows the voltage in a more accurate range, between 600v and 7,000v so this is better for fences powered by small to medium sized energisers.
Our Opinion
Easy to use with no internal batteries involved and out of all our basic testers, this is the one I use at home. The reason is the bottom light is 600v so it lets you know if there is a small pulse rather than some of the testers starting at 2000v. I use smaller energisers so this is suits better. So long as I can see 3000v I know the fence has enough power to keep the wildlife off my veg!
