Sunpower S500 Solar Energiser

This solar energiser is the smallest solar model in the Sunpower range to come with TWO power levels and has enough oomph to power a 5km fence or one 50m poultry / rabbit net.

This integrated unit has a 8w solar panel on the front which charges the internal 12v battery (7Ah) during daylight hours. The energiser takes it's power from the internal battery and puts the pulse down the fenceline. The battery can be removed to recharge in winter months, should it be necessary, and charging leads for that are provided.

There are two power settings on the S500. The lower one gives a 0.35 OJ with a 3000v pulse (at 500ohms) & the higher setting gives 0.55 Output Joules with a 4200 volt pulse at 500ohms. This makes it ideal for regular paddock fencing where you want a 12v unit but can increase the power when you need it.

This fencer comes with 2 x short earth stakes which join together to give a longer earth spike that the unit can be mounted on. There's also a warning sign and connection leads included in the box. These type of energiser have an easy set up too. Just take out from the box, attach the battery to the unit, attach the earth and power lead to the earth stake and fenceline respectively and switch on

The solar energiser comes with a manufacturers 4 year warranty and the battery comes with a 6 month warranty.

Our Opinion
Great machine if you are after something which will do more than a 'strip-grazer' and the optional power settings is a handy feature particularly in winter when you might need to conserve battery use while still having a good pulse powering the fence.
